Do you want a typical assembly line type of maternity care? Or would you rather have a provider that gets to know you and your individual needs and works with you to meet them?
I was born in 1947, and grew up in a rural community in Oregon. After graduating from high school, I attended nursing school where I realized that childbirth was going to be my focus. I married and raised 4 children while first working for a chiropractor doing births in his clinic, and then working labor and delivery in the hospital for a few years. By 1980, women began asking me to help them have their babies at home, and in 1981, I transitioned to homebirth. After more studying and experience, I passed the tests to become a licensed direct entry midwife and have been serving the families in the community. I have 2 apprentices working with me and we are continuing to grow our business.
